This week, we are delighted to give away two tickets to Traces of Words: Art and Calligraphy from Asia: an upcoming exhibition at Vancouver’s Museum of Anthropology. To enter the contest, answer this skill-testing question via our Facebook page.
Traces of Words is near and dear to our hearts. Why? Like all Vancouverites we adore the MOA’s challenging, thought-provoking exhibitions; this particular showing taps into our fasciation with language and the written word.
Taking place from May 11 – October 9, 2017, Traces of Words explores words and their physical manifestations across the many unique cultures of Asia. Curated by Fuyubi Nakamura, the multimedia exhibition will meditate on the physical traces of words — both spoken and recorded — unique to humans. Works from six international artists, including Shamsia Hassani, Kimura Tsubasa, Nortse, Phaptawan Suwannakudt, Yugami Hisao and teamLab, will explore the cultural significance of words and their artistic representation. Calligraphy, painting, digital works and mixed media will all be on display.
For more information about this upcoming exhibition, visit MOA’s website.
We hope to see you there!
